Captain Highside

Hi! I'm Prashant Raghavendran. Captain Highside is my stage name. I'm a pediatric hematologist and musician based out of Atlanta, GA. 

I was born in raised in Austin, TX and have honed my love and skills for music across the years in Dallas, Fort Worth, Charleston and Nashville. My musical identity is heavily influenced by an upbringing in an Indian Americal household, time as a college radio DJ hosting a world music show, a brief stint in musical theater and burrowing into the musician community of Nashville, TN. 

I use my experiences in life and work to craft music based in nostalgic traditions while weaving in relatable, sometimes abstract emotional ideas in his lyrics. I compose and write all his own songs and often collaborates with friends I have made through the years, though sometimes I also fully produce my projects. I consider music and medicine as dual passions in my life.

I am also a vocalist with the Alter Ego Band of Atlanta, a cover band specializing in music of the 60s, 70s and 80s. 

I try to promote my work regularly on Instagram and Facebook. I don't have any upcoming gigs lined up, but will be releasing a new EP, "Milder Diplomacy", on July 15th!
